Yesterday turned out to be a beautiful day for a car show. Low to mid 80's with a good breeze. The only thing we needed were a good location and plenty of LBCs. Our location was Schenley Golf Course in Oakland outside of Pittsburgh, a short walk from Pitt. The cars were supplied by nearly 500 locals.
Our club, Western PA Triumph Assoc., has been running this show for nearly thirty years. Most of them have been in conjunction with the Pittsburgh Vintage Gran Prix. Monies go to the Autism Society of Pittsburgh and Allegheny Valley School, two great local charities.
We had the opportunity to walk the Italian and German car show grounds. The legs and beer ran out before we could get to the American show. We also got to watch a little racing and eat some lousy hotdogs from a local vendor.
All in all it was a great day. Got to meet jd72tr. Nice guy. He came down from Erie to TRF Summer Party and then in from Armaugh. We shared some cold beverages and stories about the evils of these little cars.
If you ever have the opportunity to make this show, please do. Just be prepared, it will probably rain.
