bright parking lights

You know those bright parking lights on the Vette's and other cars? Can we use that type of bulb in the B's, or is it a different type of voltage that prohibits it? I like the idea of being seen from a 1/4 mile away.

I'd be concerned about melting the lenses, Mike. Mebbe hang a seperate dixture from under the bumpers? Just a thought.

Well Doc. You missed my point. If the lenses melt and catch fire, I'll be seen from a 1/4 mile away.
I once saw a pair of lights mounted behind the grill, that was intriguing. Maybe those small PIAA lights mounted vertically almost between the uprights on the grill, but they are very expensive.

You mean front lights then? I don't see how that would make a difference since they will never be as bright as headlamps.

Hmmm

I know on my 75 the parking lights are very bright and can be seen for quite a ways away. The bulbs are all new along with all new lenses.

Mine as well, Stew.

I was thinking of bulb base too, Mike. The blue-white "bright" ones are a different rig entire. You can get some fairly bright (wattage) bulbs with the same base as the originals but the heat factor becomes a concern then. Your car is an early version, do you have clear or yellow lenses as "running lights"?

White parking light, yellow directionals. The visual appearance of the "running or parking" light is was what appealed to me. The headlights are certainly brighter, but they're just headlights. The brighter parking lights are my goal. There's visbility and then there's atractive visibility.
I'm going to a british show up here in Nh on the 22nd, maybe I'll see what I'm looking for and take some pix to share.
As a bonifide LBC owner, there are certainly times I'd like to set fire to this piece of... I mean the car I love, but not right now.
