Engine pron to be sure.

Not to be pedantic/critical, but that top end looks dry to me. I'd have lubed up those rollers with some moly grease.

Is this a test fit?
 
Hey Scott,

No this is the real final assembly - can't see it but assembly lub/grease was used for the rockers.

Believe me - theres a lot more work yet to do.

Looks pretty.

Call me paranoid, but if that were mine, it would have all sorts of goopy lube on the valve train. I don't see any oil, let alone assy lube.

Is there a new cam in there?

Yup! The Moss EFI kit with a few modifications.

One thing that doesn't make sense to me - if this is a stock build, why the money spent on the rockers. If it is a high performance build, why the low performance induction system? The combination doesn't seem to make sense whichever way I look at it....nice looking work, though.
 
billspohn, looking at your list of "Current clutter:" I am reminded of that old Sesame Street song: "One of these things is not like the others, one of these things just doesn't belong." A Lambo? Had a taste for some Italian?? :laugh:

Don’t know if a “stock build” is the right term and no – total performance isn’t my intention either. Again to anybody who’s been following my project – the ultimate goal is something in-between.

Using the basic concept that an engine is nothing more than a air pump, I am looking at making it as efficient at pumping that air as possible by increasing its ability to burn cleanly and allow it to breath in & out freely. The Roller Rockers although admittedly a pricy one is but one piece of that puzzle with the ultimate goal being better performance (not earth shattering but significantly better than stock anyway) and still able to breeze through the strict Kalifornia emissions testing.

All said & done I expect to have an engine that will rev higher & faster and still retain the ability to drive into the local smog test facility – take the test and be on my way without any problems. Then turn around and be able to tackle a twisty back road with vigor without any tweaking under the bonnet.

The key word here is Efficiency.
