This was a new experience for me when I ordered this for dessert at Raglan Road Restaurant at Downtown Disney. Since it is supposed to be a fairly authentic Irish Pub, I was hoping that someone here had a good family recipe for this.

That's good eating Dave, glad you enjoyed it.
Delia Smith has several versions, none too complex to make.

Baz,
I was amazed how good it was. I really was too full for dessert that night, but it came with the Disney meal plan, so I ordered the pudding, and wished I had eaten less earlier so that I could have finished it. It was amazing.

Dave..spent a summer in London years back for work and became addicted to the dessert..along with other local fare..an additional 20 pounds later realized it's true goodness is a direct result of how good the custard or cream topping it is drenched with was!!!

Play fair! This is supposed to be about cars, and I'm dieting hard to lose weght. I love Bread & Butter pudding and do not want to read about it.
So there.

Hello all,

seeing Baz's picture, a tip to any who intends to make it is make sure there are no sultanas on the top layer, they just burn and taste of carbon. It really spoils a lovely dish.

said no..but drenched yes...custard or rich cream would be preferrable thank you!

When we were getting ready to board our cruise ship in Ft. Lauderdale on March 1, the lady who gave us our ship cards told us that the staterooms were not ready, but to go the the Lido deck for the lunch buffet. She then told us to be sure to get the BREAD PUDDING for dessert because Holland America is famous for the bread pudding.

I did enjoy their bread pudding about 4 times in the week, but then cruise ships have so many great food items available that it is hard to go hungry...
