TR2/3/3A brass fitting from a steel brake line

Does anyone have any ideas how to help separate an old rusty brass fitting from a steel line? Maybe put heat to one end or the other, but just do not know. I am concerned about damaging the brass. The steel can go, I am saving it for a pattern.

It looks like you've already been liberal with the PB Blaster. If that doesn't do it, then "yes" try some heat. First apply very lightly around the brass fitting. If that doesn't work, then cool it and apply the heat a bit more aggressively to the steel fitting, allowing it to air cool and then try it. When you get serious, I would clamp at the center, as that area will twist if you apply effort to the full length of the fitting.
 
Another tack - try turning the steel fitting clockwise just a bit, as if you were trying to tighten it. Then try turning CCW to loosen. Works sometimes - but not guaranteed.
