Brake slave cylinder circlip install

Tonight I'm working on assembling the rear brakes for my Bugeye (keep in mind, these are the later style brakes from a '74 Midget). I've got some photos of how they're supposed to go together from another thread here on the BCF, but I've got a simple question on the clip the holds the slave cylinder in place.

The new slaves I bought from Moss have a dished clip to hold them in place. How the he** do I get these little suckers on? I'm momentarily stumped.

When I got my rear cylinders from VB, they came with the same odd clip. I spent half an hour fiddling with it, trying to lever it on with a screwdriver, trying to pop it on with a wrench. Eventually I bent it in half. I ended up using the circlips from the original cylinders instead.

Get rid of those new E clips and pick up the old style circlips at any hardware store. I forget the size but it's the best 50 cents you can spend.
Bring in the w/cyl to fit the circlip.
You can grind off part of one of the E clip ears and make it work but what happens when it's all under the car and you want to replace a wheel cylinder
the night before a trip?

Luckily, I saved the old clips and washers. They're still in good shape, so I'll just reuse them.

Glad I'm not the only one who struggled with the clips.

Drew, it is not called struggling it is called paying your dues. LOL
