Brake Shoe differences from BE to newer

After looking at the VB catalog in my last post about the brake cylinder, i noticed that the shoes have different part numbers. I have a box of new shoes that I have not opened that my dad had from who knows when and now finding out there are different shoes what would the differences be?

I imagine the tops would be different because the cylinder on the BE mounts on the bottom and I am picturing on the others it mounts on top, correct? otherwise what else can i look at to see which shoes these are for. I will look at the box again tonight but i dont think it says what they are for on the box.

TIA

Google the name and numbers and such on the box or even stamped on the brakes.

The Bugeye shoes, or actually the shoes for the single ended sliding wheel cylinder will have 2 shoes in the set with a notch at one end. The spring holes also vary. The later double ended two piston cylinder shoes are curved at both ends of all 4 shoes.
