There is a wire that goes around the whole plastic unit and it needs to be removed, then the unit can be pulled out from the front side. The wire is sort of spring loaded and if you can get a pair of needle nose pliers behind the dash, grab the lowest side you can get a hold of and pull it off. Then push the unit out from behind. You can pull from the from after the spring is gone, but usually the plastic is brittle and will break easily. Does this make any sense? If not I'll try to post a picture for you.
Mine fit snug enough that I didn't put the retention spring back on when I put it back together.
Hope this helped a little. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/crazy.gif
Thanks John I read in the manual (after I had posted this) that if you take out the gauge next to it you can get your fingers in and get it out that way. It doesn't work now so maybe i will just leave it, I mean do I really need it anyway?
I've attached a pic of the spring. The two "prongs" at one end stick in one end of the unit. The other end "clips" on. It is the clip end that you will be grabbing with the pliers. the next posts after that will be the two lined up and asembled respectively. Hope this helps. I think there is also a plastic collar around the whole unit that holds the light bulb. good luck
I agree. Mine doesn't either, but the testing portion of the light works. As a pilot, I have to have the test feature working. A lot of planes have a push-to-test feature and all of my pilot buddies think it's cool to see it work when they ask what the button is. I wonder how cool they will think I am as I drive off and hit a car in the parking lot because I lost pressure and didnt know! Oh well, what's the chances!
The pic you want to post needs to be somewhere on the internet for your post to 'point to it'.
If the pic is on the internet, use the image feature and put the url in it and it should appear.

Ok I have this wonderful light in the middle of the dash and it does not work. So I ran the wires down and find that they are supposed to "plug into" a 4 way pressure switch on the passenger side wall in the engine compartment. Notice I said supposed to...I have the wires there, taped up, with no plug on the end, and a 4 way switch waiting for something to plug into it. Can you buy a plug or maybe does anybody have an old one that they can cannibalize and cut off along with a few inches of wires so I can splice it in ???
