Spitfire Brake pressure sensor leaking ['78 Spitfire]

Mum was complaining about her brakes so I pulled it into the garage. Basic plan was to drain the system, rebuild the MC, replace the rubber brake lines and refill with DOT5.

I noted that the MC had been leaking, not a big suprise there. I was, however, suprised when blowing out the brake lines that there was fluid seeping out of the brake pressure sensor. In closer examination it appears that this has been leaking for a long time.

These things look pretty flimsy. I disconnected the sensor and there doesn't appear to be any O-ring or anything else on there to hold it tight. Am I missing a part? I tried looking online, but none of the regular suspects had a picture of this.

Got it sorted last night. Found some Ford fuel injector o-rings that were the same dimensions at my FLAPS (Ace was already closed for the night).

The car stops quite well now!

Had a hiccup in the process. The copper washer (which is really a one time use item) started leaking post installation. I had a fair bit of trouble sourcing something that would work. It was really bizarre. Both surfaces perfectly flat, but no matter what I tried it leaked. Finally got my hands on a Stat-O-Seal washer from Napa. Those are the nifty ones that are metal washers with a rubber o-ring core. It sealed the unit up lickety split.

Finished the last round of brake bleeding tonight. Mum's out of town until Monday or Tuesday, so I get to drive her Spitfire all over town until then!

More fun than the Wedge?

No, it's different fun. They are two dramatically different driving experiences. In the Spitfire 30mph can be exciting. You're all but sitting on the tarmac. The TR8 is much more refined and powerful. I want to drive that much faster.
