So it appears that it is time to change out the front pads on my '73 TR6. The pads that are currently in the car are the ones that came with the car. The thickness is pretty good, but they are really glazed over... they almost look like marble!
I am considering Centric ceramic pads or a premium organic but I thought it best to check with others....
So, what do you guys recommend for new front pads?

Elliot, if you try the green stuff, you will be amazed at the difference, but you might try the ceramic as they work fine on my Jag and the Ford F150.

Thanks Wayne

I use the Green Stuff pads and while they work well I don't like the amount of pad dust they make. I'll try something else next time.

I moved to ceramic two years ago. Equal brake feel and performance to the "stock" cheapo pads but, virtually no brake dust - which is huge in my book with wire wheels.

Very satisfied.

I've said this before here. I'm a fan of Centric Posi Quiet Ceramic Pads. I've installed not only on the English in the family but also on the Japanese and German. Very pleased with performance, price, and low dusting (and what little dust made is super easy to clean).

On my winter list. Are the ceramic pads available from all the usual sources, or is there a brand and source that you guys that have used them would recommend? Cheers, Mike

That's what I am considering to use... at $23 they seem like a good deal for ceramic. Glad to hear you have had good success with them.

I have been using Raybestos brand pads on my Spit and the Impala. I really like them
