The brake lights on my 100-6 only come on when I step very hard on the pedel so they are not comming on most of the time.Is there any adjustment?
 
You might have a little bit of air trapped in the brake light switch or you just might need a new switch.

A note on Silicon Brake Fluid:

Silicon Brake Fluid may affect the pressure sensitive brake switch and require more effort to activate the brake lights until it gradually fails.

I've read that "buffering" the switch with DOT 3 (adding a drop in the pressure cup) before installing into a brake system using SBF may help. But how well this works in practice is questionable.

I converted my Healey to a mechanical Brake Switch after having to replace the old pressure brake switch three times. Now the brake lights activate instantly at even a hint of brake pedal and no failures to report. Check your options and good luck. GONZO.
 
I have heard numerous complaints about the replacement hydraulic switches not working very well. Several people have gone to a mechanical switch. It's likely that a NOS switch would be ok if you could find the genuine thing. The original switch on my BN2 is still fine after 49 years.

I bled the the brakes it seemed to make a differance but not alot. I may still have the old switch that came with the car I will give that a try.Does any one have any info on the mechanical switch
