T-Series brake failure switch problem

Hello All,

The brake failure warning switch that is fitted to the brake shuttle valve is leaking through the terminal pins. Moss and the B'hive don't have it. I guess that I could just remove it and plug the valve. I also guess that it is a pipe fitting. No? Any suggestions would be welcome. Thank you.

I've some in my used parts bin - however, just plug it with a bolt!

The MG folks seem to have the same maintenance philosophy that my grandad had. If something rattles or doesn't work - just remove it. The same problem will never happen again. Didn't need that thing anyway. If it really is needed just wrap some wire or tape around it.
 
first that switch SHOULD NOT be leaking.
if it is then the the o-rings in the assembly are bad. are the brakes in good condition? are both the front and rear working?
if there is fluid coming out of the terminals, it is a sign of a deeper problem. the valve in the assembly moves to trip the brakelite switch when one side of the brakes (front or rear) loses pressure. If the orings are bad (and nothing else is wrong it is a fairly cheap fix. (i have a whole bag of them somewhere, and will send you some if you wish) Free even. i just have to find them.

Please Look a Little Deeper into the problem.

Mine started leaking very early and I just removed it and pluged the hole. Its been so long, I can't remember wether it was a bolt or a pipe fitting.

Pete over in Newton (at Midnight Auto) probably has those (on parts-cars). Give him a call.
I'm not too sure about finding a standard plug that will fit.
