T-Series Brake Drum Relining

I was at a Porsche event a week ago and met a guy who relines brake drums with new cast-iron inserts. The work looked good. I had not heard of this being done before (maybe I'm out of the loop?), but I've never heard it mentioned when people are lamenting the lack of replacement T-series drums. I asked if they do T-series drums, and they hadn't done any, but he said that they probably could do it, as long as the dimensions aren't extreme or unusual. Apparently they also do brake-shoe relining, which may be helpful for some cars where new shoes are hard to get or expensive.
