I have the rebuild kits for these and this is next on the list.

Any tips in the rebuilding of them?

I have news hoses and am working on the MC rebuild so I want to get lots'a good tips while I'm keeping busy.

You goin' for the "Total MGB Immersion Course" here Vince?!?!?! *sheesh*!

Got yer cylinder hone and some light oil to hand? /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif

...and a quart of Castrol LMA?

I always wanted to but never had the candidate until I found the GT. I would rather do it all "saftey slow" and take my time. I can get everything functioning but I really want to make sure I learn each process.
Actaully my TD is an amazing find but I was almost afraid to work on her. Now that I am getting so involved in the BGT, I have built up so much confidence that I know I can get that up & going this summer as well.
My first car at 16 was a 1972 Midget and it never panned out the way I wanted it to because my friend recked it soon after I got it.
Wrenching this much really helps clear the the head after a long day at the office. Great therapy I tell ya!
I really could not do it with out all of the help I have been receiving from the BCF.

--Do not use any type oil with the hone /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/nonono.gif ,but hydraulic fluid--Keoke

OkaykeOKe -- care to 'splain that? I'm curious to know why not to use a light oil. Huh?

For lubrication I have been using my "Old" brake fluid. By old I mean I have had it for years and never used or opened the bottle. Rather than pitch it, I figured I could use it to hone out my MC's and such and then clean up with some fresh LMA.

Tha's fine Vince. No worries.

You're ok doc.
If we ever meet up one day, I owe you a pint of Guinness.

I'll gladly reciprocate.

I posted the question about how to rebuild the calipers on the Sprite/Midget forum just a few days ago. Some very kind folks have responded with some good advice. Be sure to look it up, it was very helpful to me. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/driving.gif

Hmm... looks familiar. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/jester.gif
