TR2/3/3A Brake Caliper Piping

Would someone be able to post a picture of how the brake piping is supposed to look on the Brake caliper for a 59 TR3A. I am specifically looking at how to install the cross tube properly. On the 2 60's that I have, the pipe runs over the top of the caliper...looking at the 59, the pipe is tucked under the nose of the caliper.

This should help.

BTW, your 60s shouldn't have the cross-over pipe at all. The change to the later split calipers was in 59, TS56377 according to Piggott. Evidently someone has installed earlier calipers and not routed the pipe properly.

Be sure to check for clearance between the pipe and installed wheel. You don't want this!

Hi Randall,

Thanks very much. My 59 looks like the top picture. You are right, my 60s looks like the bottom....earlier calipers with the pipe running on top...gotta fix that!

Cheers
