A guy called me today about some pool repairs I need to have done, I told him "no hurry, no polar bear club here!" /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/grin.gif

I heard it snowed in Daytona Beach, FL today! Is that sorta like "when pigs fly"?

Almost, Tony, but more likely up there than down by me!(a 2.5 hour drive south of Daytona!). I remember in 1988 we had steady snow flurries for 2-3 hours in Lake Worth, Fl., which is still another hour south of where I live now, and that was the only snow I've ever seen in Fl. in the 20 years I have lived here!! /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/shocked.gif

...and it was snowing at Cape Canaveral. The snow was enough to say it was snowing - you could see it - but that was it. Some people made it sound as if it was the coming of the great apocalypse. We go through this here every couple of years. Whether we break records or not, you can plan on January and February (sometimes December) on having a few pretty cold days and nights.

Except for the wind, I love it. Instead of the typically hazy humid air we have, yesterday gave us virtually unlimited visibility. From the center of the state yesterday (at a few thousand feet) I could see the city of Jacksonville, Orlando, Tampa, Daytona, every launch complex at the Cape, the Gulf of Mexico, and the Atlantic. The haze layer was almost nonexistent! Awesome!

I can say THAT would be the ONLY good thing about it, Scott. And I get NONE of the benefit of that. I want my 78 degree weather back. January will likely have us goin' thru another spate of this. BAH!
