Intresting, the choke cable.

The one from Moss was obviously for a tractor of some sort and was too long and to big in diam. Back it went.

This one from VB is the right size and works fine, however, the knob is incorrect it is a bit bigger around, diameter, and does not match the real thing.

Anyone have a clue where a real one could be procured?
A place that they have ordered from and gotten the right item.

She starts fine and I can keep her running with the choke at 2K, at least got her warmed up. Don't seem to be able to get her to run without messing all the time yet. Have the battery charger on at the moment.

Have the flats out to 8 and that does not seem to be it. Don't think I should go further but may just try one more.
If I can ever get it to run steady I can get the timeing adjusted. That in any case would be one less thing.

Little engine seems very solid and is quiet and accelerates nicely. Durn, now if I can just get past this problem.

You'll make it, Jack. Don't ask me how, though, as my luck with tuning these little engines hasn't been too good as of yet.

Oh intresting, the UPS guy stoped and said, Bugeye right?

I had one, it was my first car.

Enjoy the new parts Jack and take a dep breath when the tunning gets frustrated.

If you need a change of pace, you can always drop the small screw that secure the points down into the body of the distributor! (That's always good for a display of creative cursing)

It always amazes me when riding around how many people say the same thing Jack..."I used to have one of those!" or "that was my first sports car!" or "My ...(fill the blank).. had one of them!". It truly is amazing!!! /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/grin.gif

I wish I had a dime every time I heard that!! I was driving a Mini Cooper (one of the originals of course) and someone asked me what it was. When I told him it was a mini he replied that he used to have one in high school. /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smile.gif

At least the UPS guy sounds better than mine. When he dropped my new wheels off, he literally dropped them off. I heard him through the door as he threw them into the front of his truck.

I was pretty excited to see that!!

Makes you wonder why he had to ask what it was since he HAD one, doesn't it Boz!!! People just really want to RELATE, don't they!! /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/grin.gif
