Did Triumph ever put a Bosch distributor in the Spitfire?

A buddy of mine says he can't find points for his Spit because it has "the Bosch distributor".

I'm wondering if this is a modification and a previous owner did this?
 
Was only aware of Delco Remy or Lucas distributors in Spitfires. Bosch?...Don't think so.
 
Think I have it figured out. The engine in the Spit is an Alfa, hows that.
 
Are you sure the whole car isn't an Alfa?
