Hi All,

Since I am at the end of my tinkering with the 250
(or at least I think so)

was thinking of re chroming the luggage rack that came with the car

and was looking for some impute

my greatest concern in finding a suitable gasket/bushing where the feet of the rack would meet the boot

thanks all

Ugg I do not have it here at the house

Be prepared for sticker shock when you see the plating quote.

you aint kidding Paul!!!

A good chrome shop is hard to find,
a good price is even harder'

I had to send my bumpers & misc. chrome to Albuquerque, NM

got a good price and work well done'

Is this the style rack (designed specifically for the TR4/4A/250 body) that mounts on the forward end via plates under the boot lid hinges and at the rear using the license plate bolts?

Those racks are great (IMO) and well worth replating (excellent repros are $400 at Moss). That rack uses a pair of thick (plastic?) washers at the rear legs -- if that is what you mean I think there would be several possiblities at your local Ace.

If, OTOH, this is a generic bolt-thru-the-lid rack then (w/o seeing a pic) you may want to weigh the cost of replating vs buying a good replacement.

From what I have read mine is the the one with four feet that sat on the boot, when Americanized as I also have the center console and the antenna on the right side forward the A post I think it is an AMCO

when I did the paint I had the holes patched (small tabs spot welded on from the underside) and then patched on top (thinking to the future) so I could install later if I changed my mind

any hoo, I have a place here in ST. Louis the does chrome and they did an unreal job on all of the bumper components and they were a mess 500.00 for 6 pieces
and I am not sure how they removed the dings and dents but they are mint now

I will check out the Moss and get back
