boot liner

What is the correct liner for the boot/trunk of an early BJ8. I've seen several things. Mine is black carpet but not original. Is there suppose to be a board over the tank?Who are the suppliers of the original type? Thanks in advance for all the help.

Hi T.H.,

Armacord is the correct material (and if you are really going for original the edges have hand bound stitching). The vertical pieces are glued to the body and the horizontal piece over the tank just lays there.
Heritage sells the correct type and lucky for you they have a sale going on https://www.heritagetrim.com/ (check under specials) Moss also carries a driver and concours version set so you might want to check with them too.

Cheers,
John

Hi TH, No there should not be a board over the tank. However it is advantageous to cut a piece of cardboard that extends to the outside edges of the tank hold down straps Horizontally and is ~~~ 15-to-18" Long. This fits under the tank straps and protects the sender wiring and the boot cover in case of fuel leak.---Fwiw---Keoke

Well Anthony, at that price. TH,you just might take a chance this guy [BritBoy] has been around for at least 20 years and only recently started selling new hardware items. I have dealt with him off and on over that period of time also when others could not provide the special items I needed.-This is not an endorsement just a statement of facts.---Keoke- /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/hammer.gif

I purchased one from Moss about a year ago, around $150 I think. It was a perfect fit although you have to fit it around the battery cable in back of the fuel fill pipe.
