T-Series Book Values for MG's? [looking at '80 MGB LTD]

Hi folks!

I'm in the market for a car and am wondering where I can find "book values" for MG's. Sites like Kelly only go back into the mid '80s.

I've been an armchair enthusiast for some years and am preparing to take the plunge. I have Porter's MGB purchase and DIY guide and the checklist is a great help when assessing a car - but I'm still a little unsure about some initial asking prices. Following eBay, other sales sites, and this forum is helping...

So what am I looking for? A daily driver, preferably MGB 1969-1974. Or a Frog Eye Sprite, or a TR4...or...(??). What currently has my attention is an '80 MGB Ltd with dropped suspension, Weber carbs, and a few other goodies. I believe the asking price is just under $7000. While that really does not fit most of my criteria, it may make a better daily driver than the older cars? Thoughts?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

TIA!

Taylor

If it is "concours ready" $7,000.00 might even be a touch low. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif
However, if it is just a pristine driver that's a touch high (even if you were out here on the correct coast, instead of that one your on)
If there is NO rust and the interior looks decent and is still flexible (so that it does't tear the first time you sit down)and it has ALL of the LE goodies (wheels, trunk rack, side stripe, steering wheel and glovebox plaque). I would probably offer $5500 - $6500.(and... I would probably pay the 7k, but, that's just me /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif) Rember patience, there are plenty of nice lbc's out there.(Although, in my opinion, you will have trouble beating the LE)(But, then again, maybe I'm prejudiced /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif)
