BONNET HINGES

Here's another stupid mistake that I escaped from without major expense. Maybe some others out there who didn't know this....Bonnet hinges are NOT interchangeable. There is a right one and a left one, each with a slight camber in the correct direction to compensate for the slight curve in the bonnet.

I replaced my hinges a while back (due to another piece of stupidity that involved my bonnet flying over my head and crashing in the street behind me), and then just recently noticed that one had again broken on the long side. When I took it off to replace it, I noticed the difference above, and naturally, I had put them on the wrong sides. I wondered why my bonnet didn't fit quite right after I did the original replacement. I guess having them on the wrong side put them in just enough of a strain that hitting a few bumps here and there caused the one to fail.

Hope this helps someone.

Fred
