I have located two numbers on my car (64 BJ8) and was wondering what they indicate. The number is F312 and is stamped on the left hood hinge flange and in the trunk where the prop rod fits in the holder welded to the lid. Are there any other locations that should have this number? Thanks and have a good day!

John

Well John, i also have a ph 1 BJ8. The numbers on those locations on mine are F 221. Build date on my car was April 1-13, 1964 with a dispatch date of April 21. I have no idea what those numbers mean, except they are the same in both locations, indicating they must have been stamped when building the car. Since your number is higher than mine, was your car built later? I haven't run across that number elsewhere on the car.

Any of you Phase I-er's out there know where I can buy a complete armrest cubby hole and centre console that y'all have in yer car?

It would be a nice addition to my early Phase II. I have to say I completely detest the garbage armrest they put in the Phase II BJ8s.

Curses to the BMC accountants.

My Phase one was built November of 63. I will check that number when I can return to my car next week (when the smoke clears) and no you cannot have my cubby box.
