TR2/3/3A Body is on frame, what's next?

My body is now all painted and on the frame with engine and tranny installed. All 20 mounting bolts have been installed but not tight and all rubber/aluminum packing/shims are installed as per manual. I have restored several MGA's, a couple of MGT"s and an Austin Healey 3000 but none of these cars had any provision for adjustment of the door gaps by increasing/decreasing the mounting packing. Should I leave all 20 body attachment bolts loose then install the fenders and doors so I can then start to make final door gap adjustment to the car? When I first set the door gaps during rocker panel installation I had all the packing installed and all 20 bolts snugged down so hopefully my gaps should be very close but we all know how painting can change panel fits. What final process should I do to get my gaps set? How much adjustment of the door gaps can you do by adding/removing some of the rubber packing? Thanks for your help and have a good day!

You have to have a starting reference point. Snug it down the tub and fit the panels. After they are all installed then go back and adjust as needed. Some wiil be good from the get go, others you will have adjust some. Start all with the same number shims. AND remember these cars were not that good fits from the start.
