BN6 Top Installation

I am fitting a new soft top on a 100-6 BN6 and the there appears to be minimal information (compared to the BJ8) on installation. The BN6 & BN7 top frame has two tabs on the front bow where the wood header attaches (see arrow in attached photo). It seems that the wood should be relieved for these tabs but I cannot find any info, so I am seeking advise before I start cutting.
Thanks,
Alan

Not sure, maybe Randy will chime in. One thing I do know is to check the curve of the wood against the top of the windshield. The one I put on our BN4 was off by almost an inch. I made a form to clamp and re-bend the wood to match the curvature. I wet the wood and clamped it. I then would check it a week later to see progress. If it needed more, I put a spacer in the middle to give it more of a curve. It now fits the curve perfectly at a relaxed state.
