BN6 Brake Drums, Black or Aluminum/Silver?

I thought this question would be answered in the Anderson/Moment restoration guide, but not so from my examination. The rear wheel area shown in that book does appear to have the brake drum matching the original painted wires. My car's wheels are chrome, but I would like the drums, now black, to be in the appropriate guise. Thanks for the many past helpful posts from fellow owners.

Yes to silver. Eastwoods Argent Silver is a bit lighter than they probably were originally but looks ok, Mercedes Astral Silver is supposed to be a pretty good match.

If the black is very thick like powder coating and also on the inside surface then you may have old stock replacement drums. From what I have seen the replacement parts were painted black rather than their 'correct' colour.

I feel sure silver is the correct color but I like the look of " black " , I think that it makes the wire wheels look better .

Black tends to highlight the wheels themselves, while silver results in a complete and unified package of wheel and brake drum that, in my opinion, looks more substantial.
