BN4 Timing

As I said in my other message, I am tuning up the Healey (57 BN4 w/2 port head) in the morning and I cannot find the dwell that I should use. My manuals have the dwell for the 3000's, but since the static timing is different, I am sure the dwell would be as well.

Anyone have any idea as to what is correct?

Here is my cheat sheet

Model - BN4
Firing order 1,5,3,6,2,4
Breaker Gap - .014/.016
Static Timing - 6° BTDC
Plug Gap - .024/.026

Strobe Timing - ???
Dwell - ????

Thanks

The dwell should be 35 degrees plus or minus three degrees.

I would verify the static timing with a strobe, 6 degrees. Engine at slow idle & vac. advance disconnected. The actual timing at higher rpm will probably be around 35 degrees but this could vary with distributor design, & owner preference.
