I have purchased new engine mounts for my BN4. However, the holes do not line up and the engine sits too low so the starter nut touches the frame Is this normal with new mounts?

If the holes don't line up, and the engine sits too low - then you've probably got incorrect mounts.

Can you point us to a web page where you found the mounts? Do the new mounts seem to be the same design as the old mounts?

Hi Yes I believe so, unfortunately when I purchased the car for a total restoration the mounts had either been butchered or were non existent. the new mounts came from A Head for Healey's UK and were supposed to be the new uprated ones stronger.

I can weld up the holes on the pert that attaches to the rubber on the engine side and lower the holes so that will sort out the engine sitting a little to low, it only needs to be up by 3 or 4 mm. As for the holes which should correspond to holes in the chassis mount I can also weld up and change. I was just curious to know if I was the only person who has found this. On all of the suppliers site you can only fined two types of bottom brackets those for the BN1 & 2 and the ones for all of the BN4 to BJ7 cars.,
