BN2 Wiring Harness

The steering column wiring harness from British Wiring for my BN2 matches the wiring diagram, but not what is in the car (original.) Looking at the back side of the horn button, the left terminal wire is green with a red stripe, and the second from right is green with white. The new harness has green with blue and green with yellow. Which terminals do the green with blue and green with yellow wires go?

Why not substitute the green/yellow for the green/white and the green/blue for the green/red?

This is assuming the other two (2) wires (brown/black & green) are correct...

If the wiring diagram is correct, just use the diagram to determine which terminal to use. For get about the old harness..

My problem is the wiring diagram does not show which terminals the wires go to. These are turn signal wires and I can figure out which light they are for, but without taking the trafficator apart, I'm not sure which side the terminals are for. Randy, are you saying green/yellow is a substitute for green/white and green/blue for green/red?

I'm not saying it is, but the old harness had four (4) wires, and the new harness has four (4) wires.

The trafficator has four (4) terminals, if the new colors don't match the old colors, just come as close as you can. I suggested the order above, because green/yellow comes closer to matching green/white than green/blue does.

I apologize if I'm over simplifying things, but I've done industrial instrumentation and electrical controls for over thirty-five years; this is no big deal.

Just write down what wires are substituted for what.

Wow Greg, a LOT of useful electrical information there (especially for the older Healeys, like mine).
