BN1 trunk floor question

Can anyone tell me if the trunk floor panel on a BN1 can be removed and replaced without cutting and welding? (Moss Motors part #856-140: Trunk Floor)

The one on my car is rusting above the tail pipe (no surprise) but I'm not ready to get into real bodywork this year. If the job can't be done without welding I'll just patch it for the time being.

If you want to do it right cutting and welding are required. I suppose it could be pop-riveted in but that would involve drilling holes in the frame which is never a good idea. OTOH it would be one of the easiest panels to replace - no up-side down on-your-back welding required, it's really not structural and gets covered by the boot lining material.
 
I've done this on both a BN2 and a BJ8. It's a big job. If only one area is rusted, you could cut it out and butt weld a new section in, and wait until you do a full resto to do the whole panel. Since you don't want to weld, you might try one of the adhesives which, if done right, can supposedly be as strong as a weld.

thank you...that is exactly the kind of information I was looking for. My options for the short term are to either teach myself to weld or patch it as neatly as I can. The car is a fantastic driver and looks a whole lot newer than plenty of cars with forty year old paint jobs do. I'm worried if I start down the bodywork road the car will be too shiny to drive everywhere I like to go in the summer.

I just remembered a car show I watched--think it was one of the 'How It's Made - Ultimate Factories' episodes--and they were assembling a Morgan chassis with an adhesive and pop rivets. If you're not concerned with aesthetics that could be a way to go.
