BN1 shocks

I am currently rebuilding a BN1. I have removed the front shocks and want to know if there is a way to test them. They do not leak but I am wondering if I should have them rebuilt while I have everything a part. If I have them rebuilt any suggestions on who does that type of work? Thanks

It's pretty hard to tell by feel how good the shock is. I was surprised at how much stiffer a newly rebuily shock feels in comparison to an "apparently good" shock. I would just have Peter C. at nosimport rebuild them on general principles. I think the cost is around $70 each, exchange.The result is amazing.

I put in the heavy duty valves in place of the standard ones while I was having mine rebuilt

Just remember that any increase in shock stiffness increases the stress on the already questionable stock shock mounting arrangements.
