My '53 100, has Body # 4360214, as I understand this, could be wrong,4360 is batch# &214 is car #. I know she's an early car(we call her baby)so from what I've read, she's about the 126th one made? could be wrong, other owners talk about different #'s,so that's why I'm a little confused. chassis is # 143703. Suppose I'll have to break down & get a Heritage Certificate for her& the other 2 cars. cheers Genos2

Check with the Austin-Healey Hundred registrar for the specific meaning and other information about the numbers on your car. The registries exist to be a service to owners. They do this by collecting specific data about as many cars as possible, which allows comparisons and statistics to be developed which lead to a better understanding of how the cars were originally manufactured and how they are currently configured and distributed around the world today. In many cases, the registrar may also have information concering the previous history of your car.
The Hundred Registrar is Rich Chrysler (richchrysler@quickclic.net).

Hi, this site has info on 183 100's (and about 1100 big healey in total). All based on input from owners and may not be 100% accurate, but gives you an idea on build dates, chassis/engine numbers etc.

Hello all,

I am the Hundred Registrar and currently have almost 3000 Healey Hundreds registered. I encourage anybody with any series of Hundred to register with us. I monitor this list almost daily and can be contacted quickly via my email address (richchrysler@quickclic.net)
We now have so many cars registered that we can usually answer most inquiries like the one above (who is already registered with us).
143703 would have been built about 1st week of September 1953, so is indeed quite early. The batch is indeed 4360 and is consecutive Jensen Body shell 214 off their line. Of course in the dispatching of the painted body sheels over to the Longbridge final assembly line, the Body numbers got mixed around, so came off the end of the line out of consecutive Body number order. Therefore it's impossible to tell you exactly how many cars had been completed before your 143703. However I can say that with almost 20% of total Hundred production currently on our records, 143703 is the 71st Longbridge production Hundred in the Registry, not counting the Warwick built preproduction cars.
Another interesting fact is that almost all the earliest cars were finished in Healey Blue with dark blue trim.

Thanks Rich, that makes more sense. Mine is the original Healey Blue, w/dark trim.Has a very poor white exterior paint that I pressure washed most of the way off, back to the blue.Hope this winter too get two of them ready for summer. cheers Genos2
