BN1 Dash

I've got a 55 BN1 which is all original. It's in a thousand pieces, but still original. Can I get some information on why some had car colored dashes and some were two tone. Mine is the same color as the car but I like the two tone look.

many of the dashes had the silver inlay, but not all, for example, the Healey Blue cars generally had a dark blue dash with silver instrument panel inlay, but John Wheatley's car, one owner from new, Healey Blue, has a one color dash. From the Austin Healey 100 in detail, by Bill Piggot. "The Hundred came as standard with a painted fascia panel. This was painted black except on Healey Blue cars, which had dark blue painted fascias. the instrument panel was usually painted silver, but not invariably." It then goes on to talk about Wheatley's car as mentioned above.
