BN-1 Crossrod Needed but not available.

I'm not able to find a crossbar for my 1955 BN-1. I plan on having one fabricated. I'll either bore the tapered holes to fit common rod ends or use available british spec ends and have the rod threaded to match. Any advice or experience would be appreciated. If anyone has a crossbar or knows someone who has a crossbar for sale I'll buy it.

Okay, I've got to ask--what is a "crossbar"? Bob seems to know and it sounds like a suspension component, but I am not familiar with the term. If perhaps it is a front anti-roll bar, I have a stock one that I would be happy to part with.

Hi Thomas,
Welcome to the Forum. Have you tried Hemphill, which is local to you for a used part? You could also check British Car Specialists in California.

I believe Gary Hemphill--'Hemphill's Healey Haven,' right?--went out of business years ago. Would love to hear otherwise.

ps. I too was stumped by 'crossbar.' More common term, perhaps, is 'center tie rod.'

That toe adjuster thingy.

Oh, THAT thingie, which I always called a tie rod....

Sorry, I only have one of those and it is in service right now.
