BMW?Triumph??

yep,you could power a small city off that rumor mill. Many of us won't be able to afford it which would hold us ever nearer to our "real triumphs" ,unless, ...it's just knock-out awesome ! We dream.

BMW may indeed get it done, but it will not be a real TR6; only the UK can do that. Look at what BMW did to the Mini.
Sure, it is better from creature features, performance, etc.; but where did the character go. Never forget seeing those "go cart" size racing slicks in 13" size and yet they were competitive in their day. OOps, maybe the new ones are too; I have not attended a SCCA event in some time. I guess I'm just living in the past.

Went out for a drive in our TR6 last night. We went a little over a hundres miles taking back roads and through small towns. It was night time when we crossed the Wisconsin River on the Merrimac Ferry. A beautiful drive.
People all over were waving and smiling when we drove by.
I wonder if BMW can build a car that has that kind of reaction?

Personality in cars died with British Leyland.

and then there are those that will argue that Triumph died the day they started using the words "British" and "Leyland" together.

And then there are those that say Triumph died the day Standard bought a pile of paperwork back in the 30's.

Say what you want about the new Minis (and I'll never own one) but if nothing else the value of classic Minis almost doubled since they brought out the modern interpretation.
