Got my British Motor Industry Heritage Trust certificate today for the new "Whitephrog". Build Jan 2, 1959. Dispatched Jan 6, 1959 to a dealer in Yokohama Japan. OEW w/ red trim and black hood. Factory fitted equipment included a heater, rev counter, tonneau cover, laminated windscreen and locking petrol cap. Now I want to solve the mystery of how a car delivered to Japan in 1959 ended up in Huntsville, Alabama in the late 1960s/early 1970s before coming to Knoxville, Tennessee in 1974. Curious about the locking petrol cap as well. I know that was an option but I suspect fairly rare. Maybe I should consider the name "Yokohama Mama" rather than "Whitephrog"

Is it RHD?
I would guess it would someone in the military otherwise.
Very interesting Ray, good luck investigating.

Prob went to a GI in Japan and was brought home by him as well.
