I've just finished reading the new book about the BMC Competitions Department (secrets). It was written by Marcus Chambers, Stuart Turner, and Peter Browning. It covers all the activities of the Comps Dept but doesn't give very much more information than what was already out there. The book was written from the Comps Dept manager viewpoint as that's what the 3 authors were at one time. There are quite a number of "new" photo's i hadn't seen before which i think is always interesting. What i did learn was that they had 200bhp in 1961 and didn't develop the cars any further as they were winning with that amount and didn't see the need for more (i thought you could never have enough). I bought the book from www.chaters.co.uk it's been out since Sept 2005 and is published by Veloce Publishing. I don't know where it's available here as i haven't looked to find out, hope you enjoy. Regards BUNDYRUM.
