This is here in Eureka.We went to the premiere showing of
this last night.It's only 10 minutes long,but well worth watching.
Eric is a very entertaining & interesting person to listen to.
I've caught some of his talks on the local public access tv stations,&
had to watch them all the way through.
Also,check out his Youtube videos.

Woodworking always amazes me, because I am so-o-o-o-o bad at it. I can strip a bicycle down to its frame and put it back together without breathing hard, but give me a block of wood, and I'm all thumbs.

I really believe that we need more of this in our world, particularly with younger people. In a world full of virtual reality and instant gratification, we've lost the art of creation and patience. Instant gratification may be more immediate, but the delayed gratification of creating something is longer lasting.
 
Thanks for posting that Doug, as a carpenter/craftsman for 35 years-oh wow-I can definately relate. I don't have the war history and my fingernails look a little better than his but it's nice to know there is some honor in what I do. I will check out his other videos. jim
 
Thanks for posting that. I can relate to him in a lot of ways. I especially related to the spring theory. For me I think the spring was bent in a better way but for many of our other vets that's not so.

FWIW, my boss was a carpenter and there was honor in what he did also.

I don't know if anybody else has the problems watching Vimeo that my system has, but I've been trying to watch this for a week and it keeps bombing out part way through.

I finally got to watch it on YouTube.
