Blue high beam indicator

Well, the Bentley says the dashboard lights are all push pull type, I must be pushing when I should be pulling. Anyhoo, finally got the cone shaped black plastic piece that holds the bulb and directs the light towards the blue jewel in the speedo, but can't get to the bulb. And I removed the two small metal conductors, one silver one copper that serve as grounds. I guess. Can't get them back on yet. Can't find a new black plastic thingamajiggy at the usual suspects.High beams on my little car would hardly bother anyone else, they're all driving Escalades anyways, but it's good to know when they're on. Any ideas?
In the dark.

Mike, the bulb should have been IN the black cone thingie. In the back of it, pushed in. The cone should have remained in the instrument. The ground clips are retained in place from tension supplied by the fit in the case. You should have a blue/white wire from the four-way Lucar connector at the firewall by the column to a bulb-holder for the high beam indicator.

Doc, Thanks for those great pics, I hope your back gets better soon! So I screwed up and yanked the whole assembly out. The trick now will be to reseat the black cone WITH the ground clips in place. The reason they came loose was bacause I pried them loose, initially thinking they were pressure clips. I'll try and reinstall it but at this point there's nothing to hold them in place. Will just any conductive wire serve as a grounding point? Do they have to come in contact with the cutouts in the bulb base, the ground clips have a litle nub that I think is there to make contact through that cutout or pass-through. Can you come do it for me? /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/bow.gif

I find the back side of your dash to be enviously uncluttered...

Here's a simple solution, Mike:

(These can be had through NAPA or an auto parts store, this one may even have been from Radio Shack. They're "out there" and available.)

when your neckties are straightened out, I'll be fixing my antique Chinese 2008 MGF. With parts from India.
