Block pics prior 2 and after offering up the crank

Re: Block pics prior 2 and after offering up the c

There is a coating from Eastwood called Glyptal. It is a thick reddish paint/coating designed for the inside on engine blocks. I have a friend who rebuilds early Vettes and he puts it on/in every motor he rebuilds and swears by it. I rebuilt my 6 engine about 5 years ago and used it.

Don't know if it is worth it but I did notice that oil will run down the sides of the block much quicker than bare cast iron. Nothing scientific, just as I was putting the engine together, the oil I splashed around ran right off/down. I figured it was "only" $50 which wasn't much considering the whole project.
