I may be onto something here. This product, available at all the auto parts stores (Autozone, etc.) is made to clean wheels of grim and brake dust. I took a chance and sprayed it on my grimy carbs and they came really, really clean! I laid a good thick coating over the whole carb and let it sit for a while. Used an old tooth brush for the really grimy spots. Then rinsed it off with water ..... voila! Super clean carbs!
That said, I am not responsible for this product screwing up the seals or gaskets on you carbs! I just know it worked for me.
