Slowly completing 64BJ8 PII restoration. Just installed windshield. Read all the past threads on the difficulty installing the bottom lip seal, specifically the last few inches on curved end. We were able to get the seal in including the ends, but the ends kept popping out. Actually had the windshield on the car twice, but the ends would not stay in the channel. So off it came again.
On the bench with the two end pieces removed, a small hole (< 1/16") is drilled through the rubber seal and through the brass frame. SS lock wire is installed through the hole and rubber and the wire is twisted snug and tucked inside the frame. A small notch is filed in the bottom of the frame to allow the wire to rest. Reference the photos.
The two end pieces were re-installed and the windshield placed on the body. This time the seal did not pop out and remained tight to the frame.
Hope this might help others in the future for this difficult job.

PS. Many of the past posts cover the difficulty in getting this seal into the frame. Some say the quality of the seals sold by various suppliers varied in that some were too big and would not fit. For info, the seal I used was from Victoria British and was marked "Made in England". The seal fit perfectly but I had actually purchased this seal at least 10 years ago and was stored in a sealed plastic bag. I offer this for info only as I have no affiliation with VB or any of the other vendors.
