BJ8 water pump

I assume I have a BJ8, because it has a wood dash. But I don't know the cereal number because the plaques were removed. My problem now is figuring out which water pump is the proper replacement for my car. The widest part of the belt groove is 1/2". A number in the casting looks like 1282750.

Thanks,
Walter

You really should try to identify the car more closely. There is supposed to be a chassis number stamped on the right front shock tower. Also, there should be an engine number stamped on a plate if you can find it. How did you get it registered without a number?

From your description, it would be a later BJ8 with the 1/2" water pump pulley.

HI, Just order a BJ8 Pump with a 1/2" Pulley and you will be OK-FWIW---Keoke SO Walt just give MOSS A call and the problem is solved. OH !look on the Left Hand front part of the engine slightly below the exhaust manifold and see if you do not see a small aluminum strip rivited on a narrow ledge with the Engine Number on it.

Thanks. It has an 'assigned identification number' plaque rivited on to the drivers side door post. A gift from California's DMV.
