BJ8 Tonneau Flap around

Just purchased a tonneau cover from Ahead4Healey (looks like good quality and certainly a good price) and am trying to determine how and where the fastener is attached at the rear of the doors. The cover has two flaps with the flap from the rear of the car overlapping a flap that runs from the rear of the door to the vent window. It appears the fastener goes through the flap that runs along the door, however, that leaves the overlapping flap from the rear to "flap around." Looks like a snap could be added to fasten the flaps together if the back of the snap was covered to protect the finish but suspect that is not the answer. This is my first tonneau installation and any help or guidance would be appreciated.

Thanks George

Hi, There should be a lift a dot stud in that small chrome piece fixed to the car body just aft of the door. this flap then fastened down there.
OH the one with the grommet goes over the stud and then the one with the snap is put in place to hold it--Keoke

Keoke, I have the stud on the small chrome piece. The Tonneau does not have any hardware on it yet. Do I understand correctly that one flat has a lift a dot and the other has a fitting that goes on the same stud over the lift a dot? Is the second fitting a Tenax? Thanks George

piece.GOOD

The Tonneau does not have any hardware on it yet. Dang!!!

I understand correctly that one flap will require a large round grommet installed.
This flap then slips over the lift a dot stud.

The other flap will be fitted with the Snap and is put on the same stud over the grommet. Is the second fitting a Tenax? Yes
Thanks George

Let me suggest that you fit the tonneau cover and install the hardware on a warm day in direct sunlight. That will allow the tonneau to stretch a little and fit tight. If you install the hardware when the tonneau is cold, it will flap around once warmed up. On the other hand if it is too hot and stretched when fitting the hardware, you will have trouble fitting it on when cold. Look for that happy medium.
