Staring at the front seats from above, each seat looks asymmetrical. They seem to be more curved on one side (the side towards the gearbox) than the other. I'm wondering if they were swapped left and right during re-upholstering I did 12 years ago. Is the inner or outer panel (from the center pattern to the piping) the more rounded? Or are they suppose to be the same? I am about to do some re-upholstering again and want it right this time.

Looking at my BJ7 photographs, the seat pans are cut away around the gear box, the foams are handed to suite, I refurbished the seats separately and bought the foams on two different occasions - just looking at my seats from the top, the longer curves are against the gear box. Hope this helps.

Thanks, Bob. The foam is marked right and left but that's for the angle of the seat frame but other than that they seem identical. The covers measure identical but appear more curved on one side and I'm guessing you indicated the greater curve goes to the gear box side? I wasn't sure what "longer" curve meant.
Thanks for the response.

I'd like to see some pics of this "curve" if anyone has them to post?
