Bj8 rhd cable throttle conversion - help

Thanks for the initial help on this. I have taken some pictures of my restoration to show you where I am so far.

Struggling with the carb end to start with. I think that the lost motion shaft needs some additional connections on it (which I am unclear where I source them from)

Also how do I mount the accelerator pedal near the pedal box? where do I buy the brackets and does the chassis already have holes pre drilled?

also how does the overdrive mechanism fit into the whole equation?

Not sure how much originality you are going for but if its not a problem I would consider installing the Denis Welch cable throttle system. Its much better than the original 'Heath Robinson' set up which always has some slack movement in it somewhere no matter how much you try to eliminate it.

Oooops, I just re-read the name of the thread - you are already installing a cable throttle system!!!! Sorry about that. Good question about the overdrive switch, most cars I see with cable throttles don't bother with the throttle overdrive switch and revert to a direct in and out using the dash switch.

I made my own accelerator pedal lever that has two ball joints on it. The one on the left in the photo connects to the cable to the carbs. The unattached ball joint on the right attaches to the overdrive throttle switch.

Not clear as to what is happening, have you got a left hand drive car and are converting it to right hand drive?

Have you got the AH spares and SC parts catalogues they are of immense help when rebuilding a car and for parts, I have a BJ7 but I believe that the throttle layout is much the same, I will get you a photo of the layout.
Looking at your photo, the holes are there, what about the old brackets? I can not find any reference to new ones in the books, but give these people a call, they don't always list everything.

This is my Photo album concerning the Original throttle set- I have some troubles at the first road test, probably due to my absence when the mechanic worked in it,
(car can stay accelerated to 4000 rpm -or more-and don't return to the minimum)
to avoid the problems I have switched to the cable command, that was more reliable in my opinion, NO problems occur, This other is the Album that I have utilized
for my cable throttle MOD

here some photo of my MOD -
NOTE: I see tha your car are RHD -my is LHD so litte differences must be made
https://get.google.com/albumarchive.../AF1QipNlE-KGhNuiJhSmo2e6dOMHwaDdhBHhNiXp63-S --was the bracket over the pedal command
https://get.google.com/albumarchive.../AF1QipMiVJ9H1ZWBQ4ZXw5ulIfaw7h9YlcxtWPTqGj-w --was the braket in front of the carbs at the arrivals of the cable from the throttle - NOTE the wires waiting to be connected to the bracket that command the carbs shaft
I have used the standard pedal, shaft bush, and the command bracket , cable was connected by a U connection to the bracket
