BJ8 Rear Seats

Question for you BJ8 knowledgable guys. I have seen BJ8's, and probably earlier 4 seaters that have carpet surrounding the two rear seats. My phase 1 has vinyl surrounding the two rear seats. My upholstery is original and I assume the vinyl around the seats is as well. Anyway, when I ordered a new carpet kit from Moss a couple of years ago, included was a piece of carpet that goes around and in back of the two rear seats. Anyone know what is correct? Could it be different between phase 1 and 2 cars?
Thanks,

All BJ8's right from the beginning of the Phase 1 had vinyl surrounding the rear seats. The last of the carpeted seat surround was the BJ7.

Shorn,
Perhaps it was carpet for the well where the convertible top
folds into when the top( hood ) is put down ? Just a guess. Post a picture to get the real answer to your question.

Ed,
Got it figured out. Moss did send a piece of carpet
that surrounds the rear seats. However, they sell the same carpet kit for the phase 1 BJ8 as they sell for the BJ7. Same Moss # for both. Obviously, you just don't need it for the BJ8.

Hi Shorn, That is correct you run into the same problem with the phase one and phase two BJ8 carpet kits . The kits usually contain the minor parts differences for each configuration.---Keoke
