BJ8 radio delete plate?

I have decided to delete my radio in favor of hearing the engine, and have bought the chrome surround, the black plate and the 3000 emblem. I know the emblem is held on with those clip things you press on, but how do you hold the chrome surround/black plate? There is no clips, or any place to put them. Anyone done this before or what is the OEM method?
Thanks
Ed

I believe there's a couple of screws on the backside when I did mine. A couple of pieces of strips of metal works great.

The blanking plate just fits inside the chrome surround and rests on the small lip. The 3000 flash emblem's two posts go through the blanking plate where two flat spring clips are held in place by the small push on tabs. The spring clips should be perpendicular to the blanking plate after installation, image.jpeg so they just catch the backside of the console. You might want to cover the blanking plate with thin vinyl before adding the flash.
