Been away for a very long time, too many things getting in the way.

Anyone know where to buy the best radiator hoses? Is silicone any better than regular rubber?

Thanks for any help you can provide.

Hi Bill, There was a time when the lower rubber radiator hose from some suppliers was shaped incorrectly .However, I believe that problem has been corrected. Consequently,I think you are safe if you obtain them from the source closest to you. From a strength standpoint hoses that contain Kevlar as a webbing are stronger than the original type .Silicone hoses do not have the physical appearance of the originals and are up to the individuals choice of materials.---Keoke

Thanks Keoke. Any idea who sell hoses reinforced with the Kevlar? I've see the silicone hoses in bright blue, not for me. However if they came in BRG I might consider.

Most of the normal supply houses will have them I think. You mightinquire at the one you plan on using.---Keoke

The first time I bought hoses was either from VB or Moss. Standard replacement rubber. Even tho my Healey sits most of the time, the lower only lasted about 5 years. It has the small hose molded in for heater, which gave out. The next time I replaced it with kevlar. They were on sale and relatively cheap, so I bought two. Been about 8 years now and still good as when purchased. You may consider an extra to keep around. Not as easy to improvise a roadside repair when the small hose tears out.
