Long time away with 67 BJ8 in storage, engine
and overdrive rebuild (Chequebook restoration, nothing much to post). Lost password and changed email in the meantime...thanks to Basil for getting me back up and running!
Hope this doesn't qualify me as a lurker...I have occasionally looked in
on the forum, but also since last post was elected city councillor and
steep learning curve combined with running my business made time a
scarcer than normal commodity.
I find myself with the following parts:
Good unscored uncracked engine block, 67 BJ8.
Camshaft good condition
Crankshaft good condition
Both clutch plates good condition
Muffler
All these parts are original AH. If the rebuilder doesn't want any of
them, anyone interested: what would the value be...checked Moss, but
their parts are new...is that better or worse for value?
Any help would be appreciated.
I also need a dipstick for a '67 BJ8. The PO was creative and had modified the tube and shortened the dipstick. Now that this is back to original, the dipstick just touches the oil when at optimal level.
The only other significant thing to be done is the gas gauge: sender works, but needle broke off: Smith's black face, also a hard to find item.
Look forward to more posting, and more important, driving.
